This is a course I created in 2018, but it’s still usable as Adobe Animate doesn’t fundamentally change much. I should have posted this years ago!
This course is aimed at animators with some Flash/AnimateCC experience who want to gain a complete view of the animation process. The course demonstrates the creation of a scene from scratch: backgrounds, foregrounds, lining the artwork, assembling the scene and animating the characters – including a UFO invasion fleet. A building is even zapped to rubble by a giant robot!
The course is here (I get a small commission of you sign up via this): Animate CC storyboarding
The sample scenes are very dynamic – if you can handle this, you’ll be well on your way to working with AnimateCC (Flash):
A building is smashed into its constituent bricks – a nice use of nested animation and symbol reuse:
A UFO is fully tweened, so you can animate it in a fake 3D shot:
The giant robots are also fully articulated, with each sub-symbol animated to create an illusion of dimension:
And of course, a fully human character, with eyes that blink, and a rigged mouth for a dialog scene.
The course covers a LOT of material – it’s a lot of work, but a very fun and rewarding scene at the end.
